It's too bad that you turned around at Fuxing, since that's where the interesting scenery starts.

You could do it in one day if you go from Taipei to Luodong, which is about 160km.

This past weekend, Rank, I and 5 others did the Northern Cross as well. It was my third time and as you mentioned, chilly. Plus for us, wet.
